Loretta Burns

Loretta Burns is the Founder and Executive Director of AB Christian Learning Center, and has held that position since 2006. As Executive Director, she is responsible for the development of organizational policies and procedures and academic enrichment out-of-school time programs for vulnerable youth. Recognizing the need for parents to become more engaged in their children’s education, Ms. Burns developed a transformative parent engagement program, “Power of 7”, designed to empower families to become co-partners in their children’s education.

Prior to founding AB Christian Learning Center, Ms. Burns served as a civil servant with the federal government, and served in the United States Air Force where she received an honorable discharge. She gained education experience teaching high school for four years, and as an adjunct professor at Tarrant County College for 10 years.

Ms. Burns holds a BS in Business Management, as well as a MS in Interdisciplinary Studies, both from University of Texas at Arlington. She currently serves as President of East Fort Worth Montessori School’s Board of Directors, a member of the Early Learning Alliance, Read Fort Worth Executive Council, and University North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) Academic Community Partnerships Advisory Board.
